As a photographer, mountaineer, scientist, and explorer, James Balog has been traveling the world to photograph the intersection of humans and their environment. His adventurous spirit has led him to stumble across a story of magnificent proportions. He ventures to the edge of the most extreme environments so that he may visually convey the story of our environmental impact on the planet. He has won numerous awards including the Leica Medal of Excellence.
