I was going to post a picture of a Leaf Aptus but didn't want to frighten you with the 33mp. Hal at CW recommended it vs a film back and older technology body. That way I can take crappy photos and print them very large

Just to be sure, read your quote. "...and new bag." Thought I had mentioned it to you previously. Think tank. I could see how you can read it as "camera and new bag". Old camera and new bag. If I did have to buy a new body 5/7D would be it- it ain't happening Willis.

Ah. Still cool that you got some toys to go with your camera.

I got three convertible umbrellas (shoot thru and reflective) and a pretty good sized softbox that opens like an umbrella.
I also got a 77mm Star Effects filter. Now I can shoot star effects with other than my 50mm.

And yes, Merry Christmas to everyone.

You should see some of the junk I put out there on the net.
Just look at any photo of Kevin or even Lowell that I have taken.

Sorry guys, it was too easy.

LOL! "junk" is subjective... just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder... What you may think looks like junk is something beautiful to someone else... learned that lesson in my Art class...tried throwing away a drawing and my Art teacher wouldn't let me... lil did I know I would win an award for it... I did make a thread with my pics from the 2 days... again not the greatest but it's all a learning curve...

No problem Alan.
When wandering around in natural surroundings you have to watch where you step, as you never can be too careful as to what/who you might step in/on.
yes, it was too easy. Did any of those tube shots come out??

Try as I might this 6' plus ,4 legged tarantula was too scary to get too near. He could have killed me with one swat.

LOL. I knew that was coming from Kevin.

Yeah, a couple of them turned out okay.
Not bad for my real first time out with the macro tubes.
I played with them a bit before that, but not with any real enthusiasm.

Well when you have a limited library...repost!
I guess tubes are for tripods and non-moving subjects?

From what I understand, yes. They are best used with tripods and immobile subjects.
So I guess a true Macro lense might be on the wish list one of these days.
Maybe this one some day.

I know for one thing the other version is noticeably sharp when shooting off the hip. ( it will focus spot on better than my other lenses.)

Lowell, those look great. Any idea which of the tubes you were using?
There are three different lengths, and I know you had one, I had one and Shannon had one.

Who had which one? I couldn't tell ya.

Thanks, Alan.
That was this past summer, I don't remember past last week. Which tubes were those and sizes?
