Default Been gone for a long time.... - 12-12-2009, 06:40 PM

Quite honestly, I've been SWAMPED! (which is a good thing!) Just thought I'd stop by and share the new addition to my business:
www.AlluringImagesPhoto.com

Open to feedback and/or suggestions!

Merry Xmas/Happy Holidays!

You do know that a 100% flash is not the best for SEO, right? If you want to be found in search engines you really need some content (text). If you must use Flash see if you can have a mirror HTML site.

With that, I would at least change your title 'tag' from "Alluring Images Photography" to something that people will search for. A good start would include your location and what you do....all in about 70-80 characters. BTW, I checked in Google for "fresno bourdoir photogaphy"...I didn't see your site on the first page. So, you might want to change your title to reflect what your customer's are searching for.

Good luck with it and Merry Christmas to you too!

I do know about the SEO limitations - and will (hopefully) in the next year be able to hire someone to handle this end of things for me. I figured that (for now) word of mouth and some strategic 'hard copy' advertising along with supportive partnerships will keep things headed in the right direction with the website being more for quick sample images and session information.

Thanks for the tips on my tag - I made some changes!

ETA -- I was under the impression that Google does, in fact, index flash content....I could be wrong.

I've heard Google is improving indexing flash, but even at that, you don't have any content on your home page.

I see the changes. Give it a week or so and hopefully you'll see some positive changes!

Would a splash page help w/ some of that? I'm using a template and can have a splash page. Sorry for the questions - I stopped paying attention to site design code, etc about 10 years ago and it's beyond me now! If I have to shove one more technical thing into my head, I'll probably forget my kids' names!

As much as I don't like splash pages, you could try it. I might wait until your site is re-indexed and see how your site shows up. I forget my kids names all of the time!

I don't know about others but changing images in your gallery is VERY slow and I'm on a pretty fast cable modem. I think casual viewers would bail. It was taking too long for me to go through all the images.

I have to agree with Roger.

I also found that if I clicked on the next image, it sometimes passed it, and went beyond.

My main thing is the main image. Its not that "eye popping" first impression you need. You have some amazing pictures. That is one that just does not have the same pop to it

Thanks, guys! I've heard both ways on the speed of the images - some say really slow, some say just fine.... I just haven't had the time to sit and resize/upload everything yet!

Jonathan...if you had your 'druthers', which image would you choose for the splash page? (I think you're talking about the splash page - if not, the main page)

I didn't have time to go through your entire gallery so I won't give a specific image. After taking another look I think it might be the fact that there is alot of "dead space" Maybe just a tighter crop so the model is actually larger would work too
