Default Fitted cases - 10-20-2009, 08:01 PM

Well I've been enjoying my D300s & 18-200 Nikkor Lense. The part I'm hating is my fitted Tarmac case for my D80 doesnt quite work all that great for the much larger 300 & lense.

Can someone recommend a fitted case? I've been looking at B&H and I can only find the cute little PS cases

I'd really like to find a hip/belt pack as well.

Thanks

Oh, I can't remember what Roger was using lately.
He had it at the meetup in SF in April, when we went and chased down waterfalls in June, and he was still raving about it when we went to the Reno Balloon Races.

It's a modular belt system. You can change the bags for different lenses, bodies, etc.

I'll find out and get back to you.

I have a lowepro slingbag 300. It's bulky but okay for when I bring my junk with me. (If I can find a better setup I'll definitely switch it over).

this is the case I'm trying to replace

just for when I want to travel lite.

(in fact I see some here I'll have to check out )

Thank you Kevin. I do believe it was (and is) the Think Tank system.

Yep, I have the Think Tank. I got the Skin set, the Pro Speed Belt, and the Pixel Racing Harness. I had a medium Tenba sling bag but it didn't have enough room (sold it on ebay). I normally outfit the Thinktank with my 70-200 on my left hip (with lens shade on!), 10-22 on right side (again, lens shade on), then the double bag with a 50mm and an open pouch for the 17-85 which is usually on the camera. This holds my CF card holder also. If I'll be away from the car, I'll add the water bottle carrier to the back. Wore this for several hours shooting around Old Sacramento yesterday morning. Much more comfortable than having a heavy camera bag slung over one shoulder...having to set it down, open it when you need a lens. Lenses are right at my fingertips and I find I change lenses more often to get more different shots than I used to. I'm surprised Alan doesn't have a shot of me with it.

I don't carry my camera in this...it's around my neck but one of the bags could carry a body.

There is a link off the front page of the forum that adds some discount or extra product.
