Default Texas Storm - Coming & Going - 03-31-2009, 06:36 AM

One of the things I never got in Orange County is the character of storms that roll across the Texas plains. You get great sunsets but nothing like the beauty and violence of a good 'ol Texas thunderstorm.

This is one from last night. I was able to capture the storm as it was coming in and then again as it was heading towards Dallas.

This is the storm on its way in...

On the way out... I like this one because the lightning is exposing the layers in the sky and you can even see a star shining through. Note, I changed the WB on this image as I find the blue more pleasing in this instance.

Amazing lightening capture, Joe! Being a Midwest girl myself, I so miss thunderstorms!

Very dramatic shots. Now I will have to try a lightning shot. Will have to be next time I'm up in Siskiyou County as T storms are not that common in the Bay Area.

Nice work Joe. I like the WB change/adjustment on the second - it does make it more appeasing.
