Question Questions for Mac users / former PC users - 03-23-2009, 09:14 AM

I'm seriously thinking of moving to an iMac, but I have concerns mostly because all my software is Windows based.

For those that have already made this change, what pros and cons did you encounter?

If you had to do it again would you?

Looking back, if you had to change one thing or redo one thing what would be?

Thanks in advance.

With the new iMacs you can run Boot Camp and put in a install of Windows on your machine and run all your programs that you have now.

Thats the one regret I have is I haven't upgraded to the latest OS and done that.

Ahhh I used an old boot program on my MacBook and it was cumbersome to run windows on it as well. I'm wondering if the newer program work better than that early version of Parallels I had.

I think with Leopard, that was one of the things addressed.

So?!?!?!?!?!

Did you go over to the dark side? Enquiring minds want to know.

Have you had much of a chance to play with it?
How do you like it?

switching to my Mac was the best thing I ever did. Bootcamp works incredibly well too.

I honestly believe every sane photog should be a strobist.

I have had my black MacBook for a year this next month. Ver 10.5.6 Just put Aperture II on it last month. It goes with me when I go on photo missions for the military or even local all day shoots. I love it. So wonderful to be able to work with images the evening of the shoot. I have a National Geo camera backpack that my MacBook slips right into and is well padded. My latest cool Apple product is an Apple TV that lets me view images on my 42" VIZIO HDTV.
