Default Thinking about using Fluid Galleries 2... - 04-08-2007, 07:01 PM

Has anyone have an experience with this ? It's LiveBook-like without the high price. I've seen some sites using this ...just curious how it handles....

Visually, It looks cool. It's all flash which has both good and bad to it. The good = Image protection. It's very difficult (but not impossible) for others to download images contained in Flash pages. The bad = Most traffic is generated through websites using search engines, flash is a powerfull scripting engine, and the majority of the search engines will not read it due to the fact that it can be made to auto customize itself (aka. Spam) to the specific engine directly. By creating a website completely in Flash, you will not get listed strongly in most of the main search engines, thereby reducing the probability of being found. Fortunatly some sites like Google (the #1 used search engine in the world) use link association to give ranking, and not content issue so you can still list and rank well well with them (even with an all flash site) so long as you have several other photography referenced links pointing back to your site.

Sorry if this is a bit wordy, but I spent several years optimizing sites for self marketing (retired...sort of) and hope that this info helps you make the right decisions.

A pretty site is only good if others can find it.
