Default Scott Kelby's 7-Point System for PhotoShop - 01-11-2008, 09:29 AM

I've been going through the lessons and this is probably the most helpful Photoshop book I've read in years. Each lesson starts with a RAW or JPG image. Kelby takes you step by step through the process beginning with Adobe Camera RAW and then finishing up in Photoshop CS3.

Here are a few before and after examples from the lessons I've completed. These are not my original images. These images we're provided as part of the book.

I'm tempted to now, but I want to finish the book before I start on my own.

Here's one of mine using the 7-Point System:

...and an older JPG image that I pushed a good way past anything real.

This may be a dumb question but what is the 7-point system?

It's a new book from Scott Kelby that provides a step by step workflow for processing images in Photoshop CS3. Having gone through the book myself, I'd highly recommend it.

I was in the bookstore last night making my monthly magazine run and I went and sifted through the book as well. There is a bunch of great info there and I will definitely be picking it up soon...

Thanks for posting your feedback on it thus far.

Scott Kelby's book 7 Point System for Photoshop was the first book on Photoshop I have bought. Great book and very easy to follow. Lots of repetition hammers home the basic points. I highly recommend this book for everyone who uses PS.

Yeah Kelby must crank out a book a month. I have his 7 point book all dog eared. What I find even better than that is his book on Lightroom 2. This sure has changed my workflow. I spend just a little more time in Lightroom and a lot less in Photoshop.

Sounds like I have some book purchases I need to make soon. I've been looking for some more information on how to use photoshop and lightroom 2 and just seeing the examples above has me excited.
