Default continuous ink system Epson 1400 - 01-03-2008, 01:13 PM

Santa was very good to me. I ended up with a continuous ink system for my Epson 1400. I got it put in today.

It was pretty easy BUT the way the instructions had it installed wasn't the best way to install it. I altered the way the ink lines run and now it works well. The directions said "5 minutes" but there is a little clip on the ink door of the printer that wasn't included in the instructions as to how to remove it. That took a while and finally, since the ink door is made useless by the system I used a xacto to cut it off. That took WAY more than 5 minutes...after that...it was about 20min to make sure the ink lines were not getting caught up in the print head. which is where I made my adjustments to their design. I Love duct tape!

I know that the ink isn't rated as archival as Epson ink but, my printing is for negatives and family stuff. The first print is nice and bright using the best photo option.
