I own a canon 1d (yes the classic!) and if you know anything about the 1d you know it's infamous for its banding issue. Well

after doing some research I found some helpful plugins and actions that help remove this issue from my images and also help

remove some noise from some high iso shots. The best (and most expensive) is fredmiranda.com's LP ISO-BR tool. It's 15.00

over at FM but is well worth it from what I hear. The next is a little cheaper (as there's a demo version) NeatImage is more

of a ISO noise reducer plugin, but I have found that it works well with helping my banding issue. You can find the plugin at

neatimage.com. The last I found through the first of my google attempts to fix my banding problem, is an older site that

addressed this issue back in '02. It's from Tow.com you can find the article

here. This was the first tool that I tried but it didn't seem to

work in my version of cs3(beta) so maybe you can try it out. Anyhow I figured any digital photographer could use these

pieces of info whether they have a "banding monster" like my 1d or just want to clean up their images a bit. Enjoy!

My XTi is supposed to have noise issues at high ISO levels. Though I haven't noticed, I also haven't shot more than a couple above ISO800 since I got the camera months ago. Thanks for the links, as I'm sure they'll be helpful as I branch out!

Do you think these would help on OLD color photos that have deteriorated and, after scan and then strong zoom in PS, have dots of color everywhere? I have several photos from the '60's that I want to restore ... oh, I think I should start a new thread! okay, okay....

im not sure. all i know is that these are specifically designed for iso issues. i don't know how that translates from older restoration.

Noiseware is, bar none, the best noise reduction software I've used. (I know this thread is a couple years old, but I'm new and haven't seen this mentioned!) You can download a free Community Edition that has full functionality (but only one picture at a time) or it's around $50 for the Pro Edition that lets you batch process. Well worth the money if you're shooting in some of the caves that pass for wedding venues these days!
