This shot may be terrible from all kinds of technical perspectives, but it's emotive for me. This is one of my four favorite spots here in town. It is part of the bicycle trail that I ride as often as work allows. The bay is just 30 feet off to the right and I often sit by that stump alone and solve the worlds problems before riding back home.
I'll be quiet now and allow other people to share their favorite places.
Don't worry about stuff like exact focus, perfect lighting or how the background looks.
Show us a place that touches your heart and tell us why.........

Well, it is kinda womb like...and it does look like a good thinkin' spot to me, too. I like how the trees branches bend in unison in the distance.
Hmmm...favorite spots...I'll have to do some digging, too.
Good thread starter, tho...can't wait to see some other's added to yours~

OK, here goes mine!
My favorite place to go is Yokohl Valley, only a short drive from our home. It's quiet there, with rolling hills and a few scattered cattle ranches beside a meandering stream (it's also a favorite of long distance cyclists). Whenever something is troubling me, it's the place I go to do my thinking. Here are a few pics taken along the route~

Nice images! I'm quite familiar with your general area - it's a good solid place to live.
I would love see that summer shot large - I love it.

Marc, I love your trees shot ... what a beautiful place! The light, bark texture, and perspective on the path here are wonderful. Really nice composition.
Nee, wow, cool shots, each one in a different way. Yes, I see the Monet/Impressionist quality in the bikes shot. I would like to see that one larger too. I love the summer shot - fabulous light, dust, detail, and the dogs somehow really make it for me. The first one - wow, what a sky.
